    Default Diplomat Extreme..Automatic Hooking.

I headed to Normandy today in hopes of testing out the TenRyu Rayz Spectra using cranks. The flow was way down....and casting a 10 dollar crank with the water that shallow is not a wise idea.....the bottom there eats them up. I had brought along the Diplomat Extreme to see if the marketing statement of “Automatic Hooking” on trout would work twitching a Trout Magnet.....well, it does. Those that follow me have seen that the crappie hook themselves with this rod due to the extremely soft solid tip. In 3 hours I netted over 100 stocker trout. The Extreme was the correct rod for today with the very low flow. I had an absolute blast and could not believe I was able to stand without sitting for over 2 hours. Seems like the spinal nerves are calming down some. The reel was the FW 1000....spooled with 2.3# test ester. Used a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1 gram jig head #8 hook and a Bison or Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet. Life is good!

    Regards

That must have been a blast. I want the 6'3" version really bad but can't find one anywhere. If anyone finds one please let me know.
