How much do you want to spend?

    Saltwater or fresh?

I would like to keep it under $80 per reel
    And it’s for freshwater

I've been using a Diawa Legalis LT 1000D for about a year. It's a very good performer, light, smooth drag and can be had for around $60. The newer Diawa Regal LT is pretty much the same reel with two more bearings. Price is similar although one of the big outlets had then on sale for $39 this summer.

Okay, I’ll look into a few of them and similar reels, thanks.

I've used Shimano Sahara 500 for some time and like it for the money. I still have it, but recently upgraded to a more refined option and do not use my Sahara anymore. Should be about the same price range as Legalis recommended above (never used it so cannot compare to Sahara). 500 is the smallest size among the Shimano offerings.
