Coming along much better than I thought. I’ve had zero pain meds from this. I find that remarkable from having a 5 inch incision down my back and 5 vertebrae decompressed. They kept asking me did I want something for pain in the hospital and I told them I did not hurt. What bothered me was the 6 inch long drain in my back.....but ice packs took care of that. For this much downtime I would normally be buying gear. Well I tell you sourcing JDM gear I want is tough.....finding the exact rods I’m looking for is an exercise in futility. But I’m sure I’ll be ready come March to get on the water.

    Regards

Glad you are on the mend and you will be back at it in no time... I ordered the 2000 Luvias last night and I’ll be picking up a zion knob for it as well... they just feel better to me... the zion knob came standard on my exist and I was worried at first...

Are all the Luvias reels now made in China or are any sites selling the Japanese version?

I am assuming I am getting a Chinese made Luvias... kind of wish I had hopped on the bandwagon initially but that is okay... didn’t think I would need another 2000 size reel... have 2 exist 2004, a 15 Luvias 2000 size, and a 2000 size tatula... getting new Luvias to upgrade tatula for float rod for crappie fishing... probably good on 2000 size now for sure...

FYI, Shimano Vanford C2000S will be a $200 reel once Asian Portal has them in stock, so yes, it will considerably be cheaper than Luvias after all.

The ABU MGX Theta in the 1000 size is in stock at Digitaka now, although it can be found on Amazon JP for a little cheaper. Just FYI. Randy has a really good review of this reel on his Trout Magnet Man You Tube channel.

It’s a great reel. I really enjoy mine. Have any of you Theta owners done the drag assembly change to “Light”? Looks like you change the order of the drag washers.

I have not.....I meant to try it but now will have to wait until spring. I really like the reel...the drag is great...sound wise and smoothness.
