Looks line the Zenon is going to come with some 5.2:1 gear ratio...the 1000 is 142g...THE REEL TEST talks about it at 9:00...

Speaking of reel handle and knob, is there an aftermarket knob similar to the Abu Garcia Theta that will work on Daiwa reels? At this time, I much prefer the Abu style with the circular knob.

I am not fond of the Abu handle and replaced mine with a flatter cork handle more similar to the daiwa handles I am used to :D

I forgot to add that the reel Stan posted doesn’t look bad to me... almost reminds me of a quantum...

Anyone getting Shimano Vanford 500? I know it it not JDM and it is not even available for Japan market. I plan to upgrade my Sahara 750 FB with this or Soare BB 500. Anyway I have Vanford 2000S coming in a few days.

Will be curious of your thoughts on the Vanford 2000S when it comes in. 150g class reel for a 50 bucks less than the 20 Luvias. Please let us know... with pictures of course
