    Default Eradicator Questions

Since several have had some seat time with the Eradicator I hope some can answer questions that came to mind.
Does the rod have a sweet spot for jig weight in using a Trout Magnet?
Any line weight/type impressions other the 2.3 ester?
For those of you that have used multiple reels on the rod, any balance/feel differences in 1000 to 200 series?
I know Randy likes his Abu reel, but how does the Luvius, Ballastic, Presso Ltd or Stradic Ci4+ feel?
    Thanks in Advance

I have put all my reels on the Eradicator...1000 and 2000 series....Ballistic FW...Presso Limited 1025...Shimano Twin Power 2000C......Luvias...old and new.....no problems with the balance or feel. But I have to admit I really like the light reels. The only line I have used with it is the ester 2.3# test. I have fished 1/2 gram up to 1.5 gram jig heads with it. It fishes them all great..but to me the sweet spot seems to be the 1 gram head. Just something about the feel....I can really get into a good twitching cadence with the Trout Magnet on the rod. While this rod is rated up to 10 grams I feel that is a huge stretch. Of course I don't even own anything that is 10 grams so that will never be a problem for me....LOL. Very soon I will be fishing it with the 2 gram as the water rises in the dead lock.

    Regards

I fished mine with the 1000 series Theta today. First outing with the Theta and I have to say I liked it quite a bit. I have also fished it with the 1025 Presso. Both balance well and I am not to fond of Ester so I have been using 2lb maxima. I completely agree with Alpha about the 1 gram being the sweet spot. Good rod and lots of fun!

I fish mine with an 1000 series Daiwa. I really like it out of the kayak as it protects tippets well. I fish 2.3 Ester w 3lb Fluor shock leader I’m considering moving mine to purchase a Lunakia LK610 as I fish a lot from the bank and I’m looking for something I can fish with a little heavier gram weight. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I am assuming you mean the 6.7 Slow Taper Eradicator. I have the 6.10 LS and it is definitely not slow action, but more fast action similar but not as rigid as the 6.10 Corto. I have paired the same reels as listed above with mine but with two types of braid. I bought mine way back in Spring and started with a 3lb Yellow Unitaka Braid. This rod, like the Slow Taper, has very small micro guides, 4 sizes to be exact, and the larger Yellow Braid sang like a canary when even a small fish was hooked. I did not care for this, and knew switching to a smaller diameter softer line would cure the noise issue, so I switched to the 3lb Sunline Small Game Special HG-PE Braid in pink color. This braid is perfect for the small guides, it is the diameter of a human hair. Problem solved, no more guide noise. The 1.2 to 1.5g jighead with plastic baits are the sweet spot for this rod. Casts them well it does with super tip sensitivity. If you want a bit more backbone look at the 6.10, same blank materials and superior craftsmanship.

I have tried:2015 Luvias 2004H, 2020 Luvias 2000, 2019 Ballistic FW LT, and even a vintage Abu Garcia Cardinal C3... all worked fine, even the bit heavier C3 was just that, heavier, didn’t cause balance issues.
