Why not start a new thread? These long threads make the useful info therein harder to find.

Anyone rolling with new gear for the summer? Any recent noteworthy rod purchases or are you considering anything?

Anyone have feedback/thoughts on the little Lunakias, either the 5’8” or 6’3”? I like my 6’10” a lot and was thinking about adding a smaller one for strictly bluegill/crappie.

I have the 63 and like it a lot. Fellow member yodie has written it up here and if you search you will find some good comments. It is a really fun rod with blue gills, and a nice crappie feels like a whale!

I have the 6’ 10” also and am impressed. I have heard nothing but good things about the 6’ 3”. I am a big fan of these hybrid light game rods…the Real Finesse being the other hybrid I own. Looking forward to checking out other hybrid light game rods……I have also thought about getting the 6’ 3”.

I think I could solely use these hybrid UL rods and be perfectly happy.

I already have the 6’7” Eradicator and a 6’10 Lunakia and wouldn’t be opposed to adding a couple more from either lineup. I’m entertaining getting a sub 6 ft JDM rod for fishing areas where a longer rod is not as important.

The 632 Lunakia is an enigma of a rod to me.

When I first got it I fell in love, it is so much fun with gills, especially smaller pond fish from our local ponds. And an absolute blast with bigger bluegill.

It is less hybrid than 610 model, much faster tip section, and being a solid tip, more fragile.

The only rod ive broken in about 20 years was this one, and I’m still not quite sure how or exactly when it broke.

Now I’m scared to fish with it a little bit and it does absolutely nothing the 67 Eradicator doesn’t do BETTER.

It’s still a fine rod, but since my initial write up on it I’ve just not fished it much since getting the 67 Eradicator.

I could fish the rest of my life with my 610 Lunakia and 67 Eradicator and never feel like I was missing out. Honestly that state, ent would be true even if I didn’t have the Eradicator.

Let me say first that I’ve never held the rods you speak of. My experience is with the different length rods in a more general term. My thought is that the rod choice is dictated by the area you fish, or the tightness of the quarters. I have 5’6”, 6’6” and 7’ rods and where I fish tells me which one to use. If I’m getting up under branches and docks, the short rods really shine and while I can do it with the 6’6”, I had better be on my game with little wind. Good luck with your choice.
