Default Ultralight Rods Relating to Panfish #2

About a week ago I decided to purchase the Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme area trout rod. I had to go through the Buyee.jp website to get it. I wound up paying 19 dollars more than what Digitaka would have sold it to me for.....they have requested the rod but as yet no stock. Going through Buyee is time consuming for sure.....but the selection of rods they have on the web stores they use is huge. But I imagine on all rods you will have to pay a little more than usual. Mine is being shipped via DHL. This will be the first carbon guide rod I have purchased. I have wanted the Presso Limited AGS for years and then covid hit and that rod was left sitting at an airport in Japan, they refunded my money. Going to be very interesting fishing these new Fuji Carbon Micro Guides. Abu Garcia is the first company that has them...but others will follow suit from info I have read. St Croix cut a deal with Daiwa to put the Daiwa AGS guides on their new 2020 Legend Xtreme rods. St Croix's stated in the press release their goal was to create the most sensitive rod they could and the AGS guides were a big part of it. Of course those will all be bass rods...and no UL rods in that line up. I am sure the carbon guies play a big part of the weight reduction on the Diplomat extreme...it is 6' 2" solid tip and weighs only 47 grams. It is UL rated and action is regular..and for those that have area trout rods you know that a regular rating means this rod will be slow for sure. This should make an excellent bluegill rod. It should arrive by weeks end..will give first impressions review when I get it. Hoping it makes for some fun action up in the dead lock.

More torture for my Tict IC-69Sis-RP: This toad spot hit my TM while casting for red ears. Took me a full, and fun, 5 minutes to land him on 3 lb Gamma panfish mono. The red ears get so big in this lake, they will break you off in a heartbeat in the brush with the ester line, so I use a little stronger line to fish for them. Measured 19", 2.66 lbs:

Pretty fish! Prefer Rockin’ Power over Limber Tip for the ears?

Just luck of the draw - I had both in the kayak with me. The Limber Tip has rapidly become my favorite panfish rod, but I've yet to hook a big red ear on it - they are hard to find when not on the bed. I've no desire for an Eradicator Slow Taper Special; the LT has the "soft yet sensitive" thing in spades. Both the Tict and the Evergreen have excellent sensitivity, with the nod to the Evergreen. When I spot crappie on a pile on the Livescope, I reach for the LT. Like this 14", 1.6 lb slab I caught Friday.

Sounds like the Evergreen Limber Tip is a great all around rod. Thanks for the comparison notes.

Great catch...no doubt the Limer Tip is at the top of the heap in rods.

Great catches for sure! Just started using the Presso in 7.5' length and absolutely love it. Got mine on Amazon quickly with no problem. My main arsenal consist of SHSS rods in 7' & 9'. Perfect with 2# test braid. Great action with enough backbone to handle any size fish - if you do your part. You do not have to break the bank or wait extreme delivery times to get/use high end rods in my opinion. The results are very satisfying.
