Things are returning to normal after the passing of Ivan. The bite was good this past weekend. Water is about 1 to 1 1/2 foot below summer pool and the surface temp is running between 75.5 and 77. Catching bigger fish between 12 and 15 foot on minnows. Good luck to all.

Fished Upper Bear Sat. We used jigs, minnows, jigs with minnows; fished shallow brush, stumps, deep brush and stumps and wound up with 1 crappie!!! We caught plenty of Bass and even a catfish, but no crappie! :( In talking to a couple of other fishermen, they weren't doing any good either, so maybe it wasn't just me :) . Surface temp was about 60 degrees....

It wasn't too good for us either. Three of us fished all day Saturday and caught 20 that would keep. We fished minnows between 11 and 16 foot. The fishing seems to be getting worse as the water cools. I can't figure that one out, unless the high pressure that was north of us had something to do with it. I'm off on Friday and going to see if its any better than last weekend. I will post and let you all know how I did.
Good luck

The fishing on Upper Bear is still kinda slow. I was off last week and managed to fish there 5 days. I caught two limits, but alot of them are still small. I am starting to catch some nice ones though. Are any of you catching anything on that lake or any of the other three?
