Default Jordan Lake Report Jan 9, 2025

I went from about 0800-1500 on Jordan Lake. Water temp 48-49 degrees, blue sky, and cold started off about 29 degrees but little wind. I didn't know where to start so my two buddies and I slow trolled jigs .8-1.0mph. I saw some crappie on the Garmin about 10-20 feet suspended in the middle of the Weoka creek channel but never caught any. I haven't done well at Jordan outside of March but I am going to get better! We did find some structure that looked like a few fish, reeled in the trolling rods, threw out the buoy marker and let them cast to it (I got some time in to cast between setting and tying jigs on their lines) and one of my buddies got a decent bass! Only fish we caught but it was a great time.

I cleaned it and taught him how to make it for him and his wife as they never had it before. I may not be blessed to be a great fisherman right now, but I am blessed to be a blessing for others. A good friend of mine named it Hook Therapy, just enjoying being out in God's creation.

Also I am very open to advice and critique

It’s always a blessing to get out on the water, even if the fish don’t cooperate very good. Wonderful thing to share it with others.

A word of advice on slow trolling. In my opinion you were moving too fast. I almost always only move at 0-0.3 mph. and sometimes stop for a short time if close to some kind of cover. This is even more important in colder water. Keep at it and you will learn more as you go.

Pull. I haven’t changed it since you went with me I think in March. I’ll eventually upgrade after I graduate with my Masters ~1 year

I saw Roger a comment. I think he thought you were pushing when you said slow trolling.
