Default Kayak Trip Report, Igloo Pond

I fished Igloo Pond on Redstone today for the first time. This one is a kayak special, with most of the pond covered in Water Lillies, There's maybe 1 acre of open water. I didn't expect much but ended up catching endless short Crappie, Gills and a dozen Bass. The largest two bass were around 4-pounds and a blast to catch on an ultralight with 4-pound test line. I kept 10 Crappie that were 9 to 10 inches and 10 large Gills. All ways fun to fish a new area and try to figure out the fish and get on a pattern. All fish came off a 1/32oz jig head with a 1" slider body with most fish coming off the pad edges.

Interesting that you got in there without any duck hunters DB. WTG and thanks for the report.

The clear water requires long cast and light line, but it sure makes for pretty fish!
