You just need another "hook setting" and "rule out bad water" tutorial. But to your point....me and a partner scratched hard today for a little over a dozen good fish at Limestone while a buddy from work caught a double limit by himself at a BCDA lake. Keep pounding good water, slow down and pay attention what each fish you catch tells you.

From what I’ve read you have the ability and knowledge. Stay in the game and enjoy every opportunity you get to fish. It’s not about the catches necessarily but time enjoying God’s creation. IMHO

I did this thread because I thought what my wife said was kinda funny. But I appreciate all the encouragement. I do get a little disgusted. My main problem I feel is being stubborn. Catch is right. I need to learn to weed out bad water. If I like the way a place looks I’ll fish and fish cause I think there should be fish there. Lol

Don’t think you are the only one that struggles. Sometimes I think I am the worst fisherman that ever existed. Lol

I am bad to fish for them how or where I want to catch them. Not so much how or where they want to be caught

it's amusing as to how we see ourselves as fishermen. Was talking to a member who posts excellent ketchn pics on here and he said he wished he could go with me so he could ketchm like I do and I said what? I do have streches where I ketch a lot of them but other times I go and don't get them at all. plus he didn't realize I ketch most of mine off banks or docks and not on boats which I put on my posts.

there are some on here who get them most of the time but for the rest of us we have GREAT days, some good ones and then some where nothing happens. Key for me is I go a lot and of course we don't post on those days when we do NOT ketchm or have any pics of success, so that does skew the perception. of course the real key is going fishing when you can, cause it's GOOD FOR YA. Uh where have I heard that before? LOL

in winter I watch a ton of crappie ketchn video's on youtube, actually all year round. They have been driving me crazy with ketchn in the creeks so I went out yesterday to a local river with a couple creeks coming into it and I have been driving by them for years. first one didn't get a bite but second I had bunch of hits and hooked up with several but were not crappie but probably white bass or smallies but dang it was fun while it lasted but they got off before I could see them. But we don't post about those.

At my cabin up north I will run over to the lake and hit the bank or a dock and if nothing happening will head back as it's only 5 minutes away and then go back later. But of course no one knows that I didn't ketch diddly and only see when I do well. Most of the time I ketch diddly. Same at my LSL condo as I fishing after spawn was really slow so didn't even put my trolling motor in or fish off it. But you only saw all the 30 fish limits I caught during spawn.

don't be discouraged or compare yourself to anyone but do go outside your comfort zone and try different things folks on here say to do. I do and it has greatly increased the times when I do ketchm. Not ketchn is still loads o fun just because your out there wetting a line.

While I have some good fisherman here I’m gonna ask a question. I’ll do it here instead of making a dumb post. Lol. At times like this where it’s in the high 60s-low 70s,then Saturday the high is in the 40s for the first time is it a waist of time to go??As far as having a good chance to catch any??Everyone says that get lockjaw when that happens so wondered y’all’s take and if you have any advice in those situations.
