    Default TVA

According to the TVA website the outflow for tomorrow will be 83,000. What does that mean for current at Cotaco??Im just starting to try and learn the website.

I’m assuming it’s going to be moving pretty quickly tomorrow. With all this rain it will probably be muddy as well.

TVA says guntersville will be spilling nearly 68k and Wheeler will be spilling 77k on average tomorrow.

In my experience, any time one of those numbers are over 55k, the water has been moving pretty fast in the creeks.

I’ve been laid up the past couple days with a stomach virus. Plus I live a good way south so I really wasn’t sure how much it’s rained. Thanks for the info. Guess I’ll make other plans.

if they are running 83000cfs from Guntersville it means lots of gates open and lots of current. Usually any amount over 48000 means some gates are open and anything under turbines only generating with no gates , although this year they have cracked the gates a bit with the discharge being under 48000 for some reason.. Also for some reason they have a mad on about keeping the lake about 2 to 3 ft below normal pool this winter . Use to be to control milfoil and hydrilla but it doesnt work with the eel or ribbon grass as it grows too deep to be affected by low water temps

I’m much better. Planning to go somewhere tomorrow just not sure where. I want to fish cotaco but can’t handle bad current.

With Wheeler spilling more water than Guntersville they will be pulling water out of the creeks so Cotaco will have a fair amount of current,if you or someone wants to fish Cotaco they will need to ease up to whatever treetop and kinda rest against it or tie off to it, I fish Cotaco a lot since it is so close to me and that's what I do
