Default How fall effects lake vs river system crappie

How does the fall transition effect fish in a lake like moulton new city lake or others like it as opposed to how it effects crappie on the river system like limestone, flint etc??

I think the smaller bodies of water turn over quicker than the reservoirs. So you can fish that pattern first on smaller lakes vs big water. But, watch the temps, that'll be most telling.
