Great trip
I fished the I-65 slough today with alexava from daylight till around 1:30PM. We caught scattered Crappie all day missing more than we got in the boat. We ended up keeping 50 Crappie between the two of us and returning numerous short fish. We seemed to hook endless gar and several large Channel's. The largest I returned was around 15 pounds. Hard work on a 10-foot jig rod with 6-pound test. Most fish came off spider rigging in 18 inches of water with the jig only about 10 inches under the surface. I started with a 1" slider, but alexava seemed to be doing better with a Chartreuse Arkie hair jig so I changed over. Eventually changing to a Blue Fox Glow Pink and Pearl jig. The water was muddy with visibility of only inches and 70 degrees. It had warmed to 80 degrees by the time we left.
Great day on the water!
Alexava may have some pics, I didn't take any today.

This is another dewatering area like Swan Creek. The fish can't get out and would be deeper if they could. You have to put a kayak on a cart and walk it half a mile down a trail to get to the water. Probably not a huge number of Crappie in the slough but no one else is targeting them.
