    Default Cotaco Creek

Fished from 8 to 10:30 at the mouth. Caught 10 fish with a mixture of blacks & whites and 6 of them measured. Water was 79 and clear. The bite was at 6-8ft. Best colors were blue ice and electric chicken. Really happy with some adjustments on my Garmin.Name: 20220909_111849.jpg

One of the most important things is a dedicated power wire going to the garmin to prevent voltage drop. Mine is a 10/2. It needs to be on the crank battery and as far away from the TM leads as possible. I also have a ferrite ring on the transducer. You can get them pretty cheap from Amazon and it helps with EMI. There's a guy in Rogersville that specializes in boat instalation. His name is Rob and his business is FBI....Fishing Boat Installation.... He spent several years working for a company that maps our rivers and he is really good with all brands. Last Fall I paid for his service to ride with me to teach me a few things. When the sun comes up I'll check my settings on the unit but each river is different depending on its clarity.

Went back to Cotaco Sunday water was 71 @ 8:00 and 77 @ 2:00. Everything I own is now soaking wet. Saw a lighting steak that I'm pretty struck the water. Minnows were marching upstream and couple of fish thumped pretty hard.
