Default Kayak report for I-65 slough

I tried the slough and it is a good haul coming out in the hot sun. The water was very low and looked like they were lowering it while i was there. The buffalo were everywhere and had the water muddy and boiling. I snagged 3 or 4 just fishing a spinner with a 1 inch slider on it. The one in the picture is about 20 lbs. I did manage 1 bass, 1 bow fin , 1 gar and a crappie. The crappie came from the area where the channel splits and the broke rod is sticking up as if some one had marked it for me

Looks like it was a fun time, and lots of different species to round out a day! WTG

Nice fish! Think you could get a Jon boat in there or just the kayak?

You can get a small john boat in there but the 1/4 mile drag from the gate to the put in would require some type of wheels or way to haul the boat.

Long haul to get there and most of it is too shallow to run a trolling motor. You'd have to scull.
