Default Kayak Trip Report, Buckeye Pond

I'm making a circuit of some of my old, small holes. I went to Buckeye Pond this morning, only got to fish from 7AM till about 9AM before a thunderstorm chased me off but action was fast and crazy! I kept ten that were between nine and ten inches returning about the same number of short fish. Also released another dozen that were eleven inches or over. I caught several Bass, the largest around four pounds and numerous small Gills. Fish came spider rigging four poles with a 1/16oz White Marabou jig about three to four feet deep.

I was wondering why you wasn’t fishing these areas. I fished that small place past arrowhead yesterday. I only caught a couple gills until you gave me that bit of info. I was out of that color so I ran up to the gas station and bought a pack. Ended up with 6 keepers before my back started killing me. Released them.

LOL, funny how they want a specific color, and it will be the same across the lake or an area. I couldn't buy a bite on Chartreuse today. After 20 minutes I switched over to White Marabou and it was nonstop until I had to leave because of a thunderstorm coming in from the southwest. I'll have to think of some other old spots for next weekend!

Yep. Tried every color I had and nothing. Put chartreuse on and caught a few. Thanks for the info.
