Many variables come into play. Generally speaking, what ever part of the lake that gets me out of the wind. That could be close to the bank on the main lake or in a creek off the lake. If wind isn't to bad, I fish the Creeks or coves that have the wind blowing in to them. The wind stirs up the bottom and uncovers food the bait fish feed on and the crappie follow to feed on the bait.

Thanks I found an app called Windfinder that shows the wind direction on the area you choose. You can go out several days to see the directions in three hour increments. It’s been pretty accurate speed and direction

But I have done it and they were in the calm areas. Hard to figure them out. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I find cold, rainy and windy is best.

One thing is for sure, first day of bluebird skies is usually rough for me after a cold front.

True. That’s why I went today. Lol. But not a bite and my hands were froze when I got back to the truck. Ugh.

    Welcome from Northeast Alabama!
N the morning you’d be better off staying at home !
with 7-15 mph NW winds it’s going to be a tuff grind ! the front that came thru this morning and this evening will prolly have em locked down for the most part .I’m sure they will be some biting somewhere but not enough for me to be out looking for em not supposed to get above freezing until tomorrow afternoon and that’s just for a short period of time ! Good luck and stay safe if you go!
    Too blessed to be stressed!
