Default kayak report for limestone creek

Me and a buddy fished limestone creek yesterday. We caught crappie, bream, sager, stripe, bass and a buffalo. We caught the 15 inch sager across from the sand bar. He was released. The crappie were caught in the creek near the mouth of the bay. The buffalo was in the first pit. We ended up with 13 keepers with 3 over 14 inches. Only had 1 keeper out of the middle pit. We caught 20-25 short crappie. Crappie were caught on bobby garland and a 2 inch curly tail jig. Also saw eagles and big schools of buffalo in the shallow parts of the main creek. Very nice day on the water but the wind was tough. No Gators seen today.

Way to go, thanks for sharing!

I think I lost a sager further up stream earlier in the year in one of the deeper holes with current, but you know how it is seeing a fish fighting next to the boat in clear water. It may have been a bass. I'll never know since it came unbuttoned. I don't know enough about them to predict where them might be.

I used to see an old fellow fishing from a canoe that told me he could catch sauger every year at the spot thats in fishingmans first photo which also is my fave spot in the creek for crappie....I havent seen that old dude for a few years now..I think he told me he was 86 the last time I did see him.....also used to see him being dropped off for creek floats around madison county by his wife who would drop him off at point A and pick him up later at point B....mostly in western part of the county.
