    Default Limestone 11-6

Fished limestone Saturday morn from 830 -11:30 and caught 8 keepers. Was so foggy to start that I had to use my iPhone maps app to navigate across the bay from arrowhead . Water is almost as low as it gets and clear. All fish caught and released using a beetle spin with slider body and rolling it as slow as I could turn the handle.

Thanks for the report. I’d like to get down there one more time before I give it up for the winter.

yes they are and thats one of two tips I got from you that changed my game for the better in that creek and pits...I gotta build a dredge of some sort to move some gravel so I can get into those pits with my new rig...its only drafts 4-5 inches but the water is down now so that its impossible to get in and too heavy to drag like I do my 12 footer....maybe I should tow the smaller boat or strap on a kayak to get skinny with.....

Many years ago in the Altamaha River in Georgia I saw a huge flat bottom boat pull into the landing with home made racks on the sides. There were two kayaks side ways across the flat bottom and tied down. When I talked with the guys they fished oxbow lakes and cut offs from the main river that only connect during high water. No roads access the areas so they take the big boat down the river and beach it. Then use the kayaks to fish the small water cut offs. They had a couple limits of Black Crappie where every fish was 14 to 16 inches. They said that was a normal trip since they were fishing water no one else could reach. They said they had the same general success with Large Mouth Bass and Shellcrackers doing the same thing.

As I've gotten older I think about that more and more. Big boat to get close to the spot, kayak to work the skinny water.
