Default Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek

I fished Limestone today keeping 13 and returning numerous short Crappie. The water is down a few more inches and all the pits are now cut off from the Creek. Water is clear with visibility of about 36 inches in the creek, 12 to 18 inches in the pits. The creek is 54 degrees, pits are 58 degrees. All fish came of jig and bobber using a 1/32oz jig head and a 1" slider body. Probably my last trip into Limestone Creek until spring when the water starts to come up a little. No Gators again. They must have move in to whatever holes in the woods they winter in.

(First comment) Good report. I fished there yesterday. Lots of dragging! Caught mainly largemouths. I did see a large gator in the water in the first pit.

So strange that I fished that pit yesterday from end to end and never saw the big guy. Amazing how something that large can hide so easily!

I fished the first pit yesterday and the big gator is still in the pit. He was on the bank sunning but hit the water as soon as i entered the pit.
