Congrats on the new boat. Thinking about checking into a 14 ft with a jet outboard myself.

fished from 8- noon and only caught 3 dinks and a few bream.....water was fast and very dingy with baitfish everywhere but nothing chasing them....no bass bite either....hope to chase them next week with a new boat that Im giving myself for my 61st Bday.....1652 weld bilt with 20 hp tohatsu. Im too old to to fart around in a 12 ft flatbottom.

Congrata on the new rig

The boat house in athens has several lowes 1648's in stock...prob would have bought that if they had motors too but late december is earliest they can get a mercury.......tohatsu makes all mercury's up to 30hp ....the lowes boat weighs 100 lbs less and has a semiV design and cost a thousand less than the weld bilt. if your going across those stumps in the winter your better off with a 16 rather than a 14 as they only weigh a few pounds more but spreads the load out and will actually draft shallower than a 14....only prob is getting something that big into the pits in low water...I use to get into middle pit with a similar rig but the entrance has had a lot of gravel wash into it since then so Im thinking Ill have to dredge it out a little with some 5 gallon buckets ....gonna wait till those gators are less active before I wade around in their neighborhood....

Congratulations on the new rig and thanks for the report.
Water quality Saturday was dropping quickly with the muddy water coming in from off Limestone Creek. Hopefully is clears up later in the week.

Congrats!
Happy birthday!
Too blessed to be stressed!
You will love that boat. My buddy had a 1752 and it was perfect for fishing, hunting, or whatever you wanted to do. Not too big, but not too small.
