Default Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek

I fished Limestone again today, found fish scattered all over. I returned to the stump bed outside the mouth casting a 1/32oz spinner with a 1" slider jig, caught and released multiple large Crappie. I went back inside fishing any still water and the pits and found fish everywhere, but never more than one or two in any single spot. There are finally schools of shad in the pits and the water has dropped about 18 inches. I kept half a limit for dinner and returned the rest.

The water was 68 degrees in the current, pits were 72 degrees with visablity of about 12 inches. I even managed a dozen nice Shellcracker that I returned.

Before someone ask, didn't see any Gators.

Great way to spent my birthday!

Nice. I almost went to Limestone myself. Instead went to the Barren Fork.

    Happy birthday!

Do any good at Barron Fork? Looked like the water was still too high.
