    Default Lake George ?

I’ve talked to a couple guys on here about it but the conversations have got deleted and I don’t remember the user names. I was in town yesterday and had time to kill between appointments and road by. I saw a couple places I’d really like to fish,so if anyone is familiar with the area and don’t mind hit me up. Thanks

Yes sir! What ya need? I know the area pretty well. We fished there last Saturday afternooon. There were alot of Jet Skis and Skiers. We struck out on Crappie, but the shellcracker and bream bite was strong.

In Cullman? Its close but I dont fish there much. Like bamadad mentioned, some days its hard to fish due to how small it is and other boats there with no hp limit. There used to be a guy who lived on the lake and had a full blown ballasted ski boat and would just drive back and forth all day. Well within the law but considering the lake is super small he ends up driving by you no matter where you are every 10 min or so. This was a couple years ago so that may not be the case anymore.

Also, as a couple of years ago, the boat ramp was always covered up with people swimming. Again perfectly fine but the crowd always seemed pretty sketchy. There would be kids just swimming in the designated boat launch area who wouldn't move and parents who didn't seem to care. Parking was already tight but people parked however they saw fit and would block you in. Also parked all around the shore and blocked off the launch. Ask them to move and they act like are asking them to give you $1000. I also saw a truck there once with a couple pitbulls chained to the bumper lol. Just an interesting crowd for sure. Probably not right for me to judge but I never felt the best about leaving my truck there. Never had any issues though.

I honestly can't speak much on the fishing itself. I typically just used that lake to test out small outboards I was working on as it was always easier to launch there than Catoma and less crowded. Id spend time fishing too but mainly just throwing bass rigs or small jigs and rarely caught anything worthwhile.

I was wondering about on the other side of 1330 and 1339. They look like a place I’ve been having good luck on a creek that runs into catoma. I fish from a kayak and can put in pretty much anywhere. It looks like there’s a lot of private land there compared to most places. I just wondered if there’s anywhere I can put in without getting shot. Lol. Also was thinking there might not be as many jet skis and pleasure boaters in those areas. But there may not be good fishing either. Was just wondering.

Ive Bream fished it 3-4 times but never chased any Crappie there. Probably been 8-10 years since I’ve been on George. Its small, but we caught a pile of good Bream that year. Seemed like we left the boat ramp and ran north past the Y to the left and stayed on the east bank and fished the big slough that runs to the north east

Thanks for the other info. I’m going back when I have more time to look around.
