    Default 7/23 Fishing/meltdown report

Got the water about 7 this morning with 2 buddies. Was super foggy, but nice. That meant the sun rays wasn’t blistering me yet lol. Started catching crappie right off the bat trolling jigs in 20-30 FOW Fishing 12-15 ft deep. Had a little breeze so it was enjoyable. Then the sun came out wind quit blowing and in a few short minutes I was soaking wet with sweat. Fished until about 1145. That was all we could stand. Ended up smacking the crappie pretty good. Caught around 70 had 4-5 2lb fish and boxed 60 for a big fish fry with friends on Sunday. Caught 30ish stripe 10-12 bass and 1 catfish. When we put the boat on the trailer I think I had 3rd degree sun burn on the tops of my knees, what was pearly white skin is now ripe tomato red. Wish i would have brought a change of clothes, my shirt, shorts, underwear, and socks were soaked. Besides the heat, it was a great day on the water shooting the bull with friends.

Sunburn sure isn't any fun. Sure is easy to get that way when putting fish in the boat. Sounds like a great trip

I’m never remember to take pictures. I don’t think about it until I’m posting on here. I called my buddy who was cleaning the fish going to get him to lay the bigger fish out and take a picture. He said too late they are already in the fridge

Lol. Ill try to do better on the pictures.
I’ve stayed with it this year instead of quitting after the spawn like I normally do. I knew that crappie were catchable in the summer but didn’t think I would ever catch them like I have this year. On my fishing app I keep up with my trips on I’ve caught over 1000 crappie this year. That’s total counting short fish to. Its been fun and sometimes frustrating trying to figure them out and follow them from shallow to deep.
