    Default Condo

What is the best depth to drop a Crappie Condo in?? I was thinking 18 FOW. Your input would be greatly appreciated. I mainly fish Logan and Neely. And is it best to put on a drop off. I was thinking somewhere where the contour lines are tight on my graph

I'd say pay attention to the thermocline, no oxygen and no fish below it during the summer. I'd put my cover at and just about the normal summer level. Crappie will go as deep as possible, but not below.

Might want to give Cowboy a PM, he does a lot of structure on Neely. Roger does the same on Logan.

Somewhat on topic....but for Ditch or anyone else who kayak fishes, Duck River Reservoir is drawn down for repairs and/or inspection to the dam. I think its been addressed and they are about to let it fill up again but not 100% on that. I say this because now would be a good time to go explore what structure is there before it fills back up. Plus the boat launches are closed for motorized boats but still open for canoes/yaks. Good opportunity to mark some spots as well as scout for good places to drop stuff in the future. I'm trying to find a canoe to go do that myself soon, although I bet it will take it a while to fill up enough where they open it back up to motor boats.

Thanks for the heads up, wished I had time. Work is keeping me busy until at least the second week of August.

Haven’t thought of that. If I can learn how to save spots on my fish finder I may go do that. I’ve been wanting to learn it because that’s the closest place for me to go. But when I’ve took my kayak there the boat traffic kept me fighting the wake to much to fish. But I had good luck a couple years ago from the bank.

What model is yours? Most have a "Mark" button you can press at any time.

I always search my model on youtube and look for a halfway decent overview video where they typically show like that.

I’ve just used it a couple of times. Just haven’t gotten that far yet.
