Surprisingly, if you really want to turn full prepper preserving fish and other meats by canning is common. I have to admit I've thought of trying it, no loss from the power going out unlike the freezer.
That was my understanding, supposed to have been a lot of tiny pin bones and when you pressure cook or boil long enough they soften enough to eat.

Yeah I deer hunt as well so I’ve read about folks canning venison (mostly up north) but have never tried doing it. It just doesn’t sound appetizing lol.

As many MREs as I ate in the Army, canned meat can't be much worse. Cover it with hot sauce and hold your breath, LOL!
Some of the new mre's are down right tasty.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Eat them for a couple months, three meals a day. Thank God for hot sauce!
