Default Kayak trip to Swan creek ( stick marsh )

Me and a buddy fished swan creek off sandy road last week. The grass is still too thick to fish at put in to 200 yards out.We could not get the bass or bluegill to hit at the spring, so we went back close to the railroad tracks. The white egrets knew where the fish were at We caught blue gill, small crappie and bass. Bass came an a horny toad and buzz bait. The bluegill and crappie came on the 1 inch slider. We left at 10:00 and had 10-12 bass and 15-20 gills and small crappie. All released for another day. Getting out to open water is a chore but worth it.

Yep, that first couple hundred yards looks like a work out for sure. Congrats on a fun day out.

Man posts like this are killing me, I had surgery a short time ago and it will probably be 6 more weeks before I can get in the boat or kayak either one. Nice job catching!

flintcreek, sorry about the surgery, getting old sucks! Hope your recovery is speedy and you're able to make up for it in later summer and fall.
