Default Kayak Trip Report, Barron Fork

I make a trip to Barron Fork today, the wind was brutal! Caught a dozen of so Crappie and small gills all over. Best bait was a 1/64oz spinner with a Pink and Chartreuse 1" slider. All fish returned. Anyone looking for some fun with the kids in a kayak or canoe I found the mother load of Redbreast on the bed. Nothing larger than about 8 inches, but you can catch one every cast. Let me know, be glad to put an "X' on a map for you.

The wind was tough for sure. I had plenty places to get out of the wind, but of course that’s not where the fish were. Lol. Nice catch.

LOL, me also. I wanted to spider rig for Crappie, but that was out with the wind. I found a few areas to fish Barron, but even there I had to anchor and cast instead of moving around as much. I just couldn't hold the kayak in the wind while jigging. Finding the Redbreast was fun, I anchored in several different spots and caught fish for an hour non stop before moving on. They sure are pretty fish.

I wanted to hit the BF this morning but decided against it with the wind. Sounds like you had a great day!
