Default GG Kayak Report 5/15- Ditto Landing

Fished Ditto yesterday and couldn’t quite get the crappie to cooperate so I changed it up to see if I could get the gills to bite. Took a little bit but found a pattern that worked and ended up with a good mess of fish. All fish were caught on a black hand tied jig with green head tipped with Berkley Honey Worm under a float about 18 inches. Those Honey Worms that Ditch shared with us were the difference (Thanks Ditch)because I started out with just the hair jig without them with minimal success. Once I tipped it with those Honey Worms it was a game changer. Good day on the water.

Good looking mess of gills for Ditto!

I can't wait to try the Honey Worms this summer on the river. Under the shade of trees when the gills are rising in the afternoon should be a great pattern.

I too fish hand ties and have very little success without tipping them with something.
I haven’t tried the honey worm yet but the gulp earth worm brown has worked very good for me !

Same thing for me at Mallard Fox yesterday. I would throw that same jig you tied for me by itself and the gills wouldn’t touch it hardly. Put the honey worm on and they were all over it.
