Default Kayak Trip Report, Moulton New City Lake

I fished Moulton again today, Gills weren't on the bed but Shellcrackers were everywhere. Caught and released over a 100, largest just under 12 inches. I spent most of the day looking for beds with side scan and working a 1/32oz jig head with a 1" slider in 10 to 15 feet of water. I caught a dozen or so bass and more gills than I can count. I ended up keeping half a limit that were all 9" or longer.

I found beds everywhere from a foot deep to some of the largest Crackers came out of 13 foot of water.

Here's some of the shallow beds!

Pics tomorrow when I clean the gills.

Is there a ramp open to launch a jon boat?

I launch at the dam, but you need a 4x4 to get back out. Numerous anglers launch jon boats on trailers from that location. There's also a put in on the other end of the lake where the main creek comes in but I've never used it so I'm not sure of the conditions.

I pulled out my scale, they averaged 3/4 pound or just a little over and were all between 9 and 10 inches. Great day on the water!
