There's a spooky place in Hartselle Alabama known as "CRYBABY HOLLOW". Located off of Highway 31, there's a long dirt road leading to a narrow bridge. At night it's very dark and ominous and if you get out of your car, they say you can hear the cries of a baby. Legend has it, that back in the old covered wagon days, a family was crossing the bridge when suddenly, something happened and the horse and cart tumbled into the muddy waters of the creek below. Lost in the tragedy was an infant child who was washed away in the current and was never seen again. Legend also has it, you can hear a woman sobbing as she was never reunited with her child, and today, the mother roams the creek bank frantically forever searching. CRYBABY HOLLOW There's a little dirt road off of 31, just past that old Flint sign. There's a one lane bridge back in them woods, where the kids go on Friday nights. It's a spooky little spot around the creek. Ain't no place for the young, scared, or weak. The story's been told a million times, About hearing that baby cry. Crybaby Hollow, Where Heaven and Earth merge in that muddy water. In the olden days of a horse and wagon, a family moved off the ridge. They were lookin to start a new life and it ended on that bridge. The whip cracked and the wagon wheel snapped Their world came tumbling down They searched for days but all was lost When that child was never found. Crybaby Hollow Where Heaven and Earth merge in that muddy water, If you're on the bridge in the dead of the night. You'll hear a mama weeping and a baby crying. Then you'll feel a chill in the air. Then you won't believe what you see in that creek A little face at the bottom. It's the legend of Crybaby Hollow. If you ever find yourself on that dirt road. Please take good care. Cause when you're on that bridge and you hear those cries. You feel a chill in the air. Crybaby Hollow Where Heaven and Earth merge in that muddy water.
