    Default Shell cracker question

Will the muddy or stained water make them harder to catch??Was wanting to see if they were still where I found them last week. Don’t know much about them.

Im not sure about muddy water, but I do not think stained has much effect. I am going out to Guntersville tomorrow to search around honeycomb, Alreds, and Browns creek for some. I haven't found a good mess in a few years on the south end of the lake. My timing must be off . How did you locate them where you went?

Nothing but pure luck. Just saw a muddy-rock bank and made a cast. Went back today and nothing. Probably caught 70-80 gills and a couple crappie but no crackers.

I got pretty consistent catching them on artificial baits a couple years ago. Best bite was in the rivers and creeks where there was shallow, clear water. The Crackers were always in that little sliver of shade along the bank and I caught some of the largest in inches of water right on the bank. Don't know if this helps, but fish everything in the shade, including the water that seems way to shallow. They'll be there!
