I’ve been thinking about swapping over. Just curious what did they cost.
on Neely Henry. Really didn't think I would catch much, but I was more interested in putting some new lithium batteries to the test. I had purchased some Iconic 50ah batteries to replace my old and tired 27 series batteries. I was skeptical going from 108 ah wet cell to these 50ah lithium, but the dealer I got them from said I would have no problem with them. So off I went.
I pulled jigs for 5 hours at .8 to .9 mph with the wind and against it while mostly playing with my garmins. Caught a few fish and found a boat. All excited about the boat, I marked it but forgot to get a screen shot. After the 5 hour mark, went back to the boat. Well, it's in 10 feet of water and best I can tell, the boat is about a foot long. So it must be a kids toy. Need to go back a get a screen shot.
By noon the wind had gotten up probably 8 to 10 mph, so I spot locked in the wind and ate some lunch for about 30 minutes. Went back to the creek and pulled for another hour. So, 6 hours of longlining and 30 minutes of spot lock, loaded the boat and went home. Oh I did catch 16 fish, all released. 11 were crappie about 8 inches long.
Now these batteries come with an app that you can monitor what they are doing thru Bluetooth. Things like how many amps there pulling, how many hours you have left at current amp draw, % of battery left, and a bunch of other stuff. About every hour I would take a look just to see how they were performing. The last few minutes when I looked, I had 77% of battery left and 11 hours of run time remaining at current draw. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
Now, they ain't cheap by no means, but have an eight year warranty, 5000 charge cycle, and both batteries only weigh 28 pounds. Glad I got em. I'll probably never have to buy a trolling motor battery again.
Back to the boat I found. Anybody wanna do a salvage job.....

That's not bad if you consider how long they are supposed to last. Actually cheaper if I had to guess. Thanks for the info!
Just curious, why didn't you go with a single 24V. I've been looking into the lithium battery stuff and there's several options that are out there.

If you get a single 24v, then you have to buy a 24v charger. Also, by having 2 12v, if something should happen to one you can put a wet cell in place of the one lithiums till you get another battery from what I understand.
