Great report DB thanks. Love the way you found the beds on the SI!
I fished Moulton today looking for Gill and Shellcracker beds, first time using my Garmin to search. I ended up keeping half a limit and tossed back a couple hundred more, fish pictures tomorrow.
I know this is a crappy picture, but I found beds in two areas today. One area was in 13 feet of water and the second was in 12 feet. Moulton is usually very clear, but spawning fish that deep surprised me!
I backed off about forty feet and went to tossing my 1" slider, bottom bouncing. I caught one fish after another for almost an hour. Same for the other spot, catching huge gills and shellcrackers nearly every cast, fun afternoon.
Great report DB thanks. Love the way you found the beds on the SI!
LOL, wait till you see these pigs tomorrow, some of the largest Gills I've ever caught.
Man they definitely don’t stand a chance now. You were rough on them before the side imaging help lol
That's the reason I only kept half a limit. Fish for dinner but don't want to wipe out the big boys!

Great report. I’d like to see a pic of your Garmin as well. I’m looking for something for the front of my boat. Great job!
12 ft down. Cool. What exactly are you seeing in the pic? Sorry. I’m a novice here. Thx

Good job!
very interesting to hear that they bedding that deep!
Moulton is very deep with steep, rocky banks. Most areas you can be in 20 feet of water plus within 20 feet of the bank. This area is a large sandy flat that's anywhere from a couple feet to about 15 feet deep. The area on the upper right is a series of circles. I wasn't sure until I anchored and fished it, but Gill beds deep.
What size head do you use bottom bumping that deep?
