Default kayak report for limestone creek

2 of us fished yesterday at limestone creek. We started off going upstream from the sand bar and got into the stripe. We caught 30 or so and decided to go down to the pits and try the crappie. We fished the pits, the bend and up the creek in the bend and only caught 2 small stripe. We decided about 2 o'clock to go back and fish for the stripe. We caught 60-70 white and yellow bass ( stripe ) a 5 lb catfish, bluegill and a shell cracker but not 1 crappie for the day. The water is still high and 65 degrees and clear. Have no ideal what happened to the crappie. Last 3 trips we only had 2 shorts.

At least it wasn’t like my last 2 trips and boring as far as catching fish. Lol. I’ve only caught a couple of shorts as well. Don’t know where they are.

Great trip out even if the crappie didn't show. Congrats on getting your line stretched.

New to the area but in the NE Oklahoma lakes I fished for several years the crappie could be very difficult to find at times. My best success in finding them when they were not in their usual haunts was to troll the open water looking for the schools. Time consuming but pays off when you finally found them. They can be a very allusive fish!!

    Good Luck everyone.
