As the sun warmed in the morning, I was undecided in the morning, but as the sun warmed, I decided to go. The waiter was high and very stained from the storms of the previous week, and despite a few days of really cold ambient air, the water temp was 67 when I put in and 70 when it tailored. The fishing was pretty slow but I managed to boat 13 and a ditch pickle. All were returned. Most were shorts anyway.
What is interesting that I would be remiss if I did t tell you is my encounter at the end of the day. There was this dude and several children in a big wake boat. At some point I pulled in my poles and decided to scan the larger south end of lake Tholocco. I found several promising structures in 13-15 feet of water and mapped out a route to drag jigs over. This turned out to be a good idea as this is where I landed the majority of my fish. Meanwhile the wake boat was doing laps around the markers, right where he was supposed to be. While the wake was a small annoyance, he was following the rules. Until he pointed his boat straight at me while pulling a skier. He passed within 20 yards while I was waving my arms to get his attention. As he passed me he yelled “you are not supposed to be here - fishing is at the north end of the lake. I replied with a a couple of choice words, which prompted him to come alongside for more discussion. Of course he was wrong - the only restrictions on the lake pertain to pleasure boats, jet skis, and kayaks and canoes. Fishing can be done on any part of the lake. I told him so, and suggested he revisit the marina where the rules are posted. I told him pointing his boat at me at power was aggressive and dangerous - he replied that I had my boat pointed at him. My boat was powered by the trolling motor at the time with lines out. They are out there folks.

I wondered if that was you yesterday. I was at the south end as well in the pocket close to the dam. I was trying out my new boat but I got skunked. I think the folks you were talking about took out at the marina just behind me

Man I hate that. People are crazy, but the even scarier part is most of them in boats like that don’t know any better, they got a buddy to take their boating license test online for them, then just go buy a boat, and never been on the water. I have a ski boat that I take the family out in during the summer and you wouldn’t believe the stuff I’ve came across. It’s really amazing there’s not more fatalities on the water.

I got a 2001 javelin. And it was my first trip out. I got a few issues to work out with the motor with it missing when I give it some throttle so i was mainly just idling around.I checked the coils last night when it was dark and look like a Christmas tree so got Parts ordered hopefully that's all it is. I need to get it set up for Crappie fishing because I'm not a bass fishing kind of guy. Wish I would have known it was you and I would have at least said hello but I'm just not one to go up on a stranger when they've got lines out thinking that I might know who it is because you never know how that will turn out.
