    Default Limestone creek kayak report

I fished yesterday for 4 1/2 hours at limestone creek. The water was very high and stained but not really muddy. There was only about a foot of the sand bar out of the water. The water temperature was 61 in the creek and 68 in some of the pits. Beautiful day but the fish were no where to be found. I had 2 bites and one of them was a 5 inch stripe. That was it. The Eagles were out in numbers. At one time i had 6 in one group circling above me. I have pictures but not very good. Hope by the middle of next week it settles down.

Wow!!!Id love to see that many. Thanks for the report. Hope they pick up soon. Think I’m gonna try somewhere else Friday. Gonna be muddy everywhere I’d imagine.

Hey all. I'm new here and fairly new to North Alabama. I have three boys that are itching to crappie fish. Does Limestone Creek have good access for bank fishing?

There’s some gravel pits you can fish from the bank. Kinda a good walk and kinda snakey. Depends on how old your boys are. There may be a way to fish the creek but I don’t know how to get there.

there are some big gators in those pits so watch out for those boys....have never heard of them attacking a human there but every year the odds get better that it will happen........

Boss is right. That’s the main reason I didn’t give more info. They’ve never bothered me but I keep my eyes peeled and aware at all times. But it’s not a place for little ones in my opinion. There’s a lot of safer places to do some bank fishing.

There are a few places near the boat ramp that may work. I've seen several people fish off the bank there.
