    Default Neely Henry

My brother and I started our annual trip this morning. We chose Neely Henry and it kicked our butts today. There is a warming trend starting tomorrow, hopefully it will turn the crappie on. This is our first time here, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We found small ones in a small creek near Canoe creek, in 5 to 8 FOW trolling singles, think we caught 20 only 3 keepers, this was Sunday. I would think it should get better toward end of the week.

The water is moderately stained in the creeks.

We caught about 15 this morning shooting boat docks but only one keeper. There are a bunch of boats out today long lining and spider rigging. Anyone finding any bigger fish?

I was not one of them but from what I am hearing not many are having much luck.

I was one of the spider rigging boats. Fished 6 hours. Caught 4 crappie, only 2 keepers. One weighed 1.77 lbs.

Roger, you were parked next to us. We saw your truck when we took out for lunch. We shot docks all day and ended up with only 5 keepers all thrown back.

Our trip ended this morning and we headed home. We salvaged the trip and caught about 20 keeper sized crappie total. Neely Henry was tough on us but if we had a few more days I think they would have really turned on.
