    FYI,
Started using the Arkie Size 220 Sexee shad I got at at WalMart several years ago. To my surprise it worked very well for Crappie and Sand Bass in the NE Oklahoma lakes I fished. The price is right so I don't get too upset when I loose a few on snags, etc. My brother-in-law and I caught over fifty sand bass one day using only this lure. Seemed if they were biting this lure would catch them.

I long line using a 3-way set up with a deep diving crank bait on the bottom leader (36") and this lure on the top leader (24"). I vary my speed to adjust the diving depth. Got a lot of doubles with this rig.
I eliminated the downrigger and used shorter leaders.

I’ve never used any. When I pull cranks it has always been the bandit 300. I would like to try to push some cranks one day

Pretty sure that would catch fish here in AL as well. I have found that you need to be on a body of water that has decent numbers of White Crappie when trolling cranks around here to catch good numbers. You will catch blacks with cranks, but my experience says more whites will bite.
