Recently moved here for NE Oklahoma. Fish mainly for crappie. Very experienced fishing stumpy lakes and shallow water.
Between the Limestone Creek boat ramp and the Tirana Boat ramp which one is the better for a 17 foot deep vee boat. The boat is welded aluminum so it is pretty heavy. Do like the floating dock at the Tirana boat ramp.
Would like to fish/explore Limestone bay and Flint Creek areas.
Thanks,
Bill

Limestone is a good ramp, just doesnt have a dock or anything. It has a pretty good spot blown out from the prop wash so loading and unloading isnt a problem even when the water is low.. if you are looking for stumpy, limestone is the right place. From the ramp looking to the north all the way around to the South west is a huge flat that is full of stumps. There are a few dips and ditches. From the ramp looking east, if you draw a line, to the south of that line I would say the water averages 2.5-4 FOW range. There is a channel that runs from the ramp out to the river then there is another channel that Y's off the creek channel if you were coming from the river back to the ramp runs NE ish. There are several stumps that are marked with PVC pipe so you know they are there but there are 1000's of them that are not marked. Just go out there one Saturday when there hasnt been 4-5 inches of rain and you will see where everyone is fishing. 99% of the boats out there are crappie fishing. I idle from the ramp out to the middle where I start fishing, just leave the motor trimmed up. I definitely would not just jump it up on plane and take off across there until you got familiar with the area.
From Triana boat ramp it would be a pretty good ride to Limestone of Flint creek.
If you left limestone creek out into the main river its a short run to Flint, which is the next creek on the south side of the river if you are running back towards Decatur.
To get to the mouth of Flint you can put in at the marina where Hwy 31 crosses the river and run up to the creek. There's a fair number of stumps in that flat too.
I think it's a $2 fee, drop it in the box as you pull thru the gate. For me it's worth not getting your rig all covered in dust which happens to me every time I go to Arrowhead on Limestone creek.
Yes, Riverwalk Marina. It’s about a 3-3.5 mile run up river to the mouth of flint and a 5-5.5 mile run to mouth of limestone. There is also a big stump flat on the north side of the harbor that people crappie fish.
