Default Longline trolling guide on Guntersville?

I’m trying to get a mid March trip together for 3 of us. Looking for a guide who longline trolls on Guntersville.

Jason Tucker if he still guides on Guntersville. Maybe someone in that area can tell you more. Tough as they come. I don't think he has a website anymore.

    this stuff is everywhere

be glad to help you out with all the info you need and put u on fish but its up to yaw to catch em (lol)
they are fish to be caught here pulling jigs / cranks just about year round but dealing with the wind and all the loose grass can get aggravating plus the Green carp guys zipping in and out constantly everywhere !

Mr. Doug my money would be on Mitch (Slabprowler) you want find a better person he will steer you right. I don’t fish Guntersville much I’m on Pickwick but he’s right that grass is a nightmare for crappie guys.

Thanks for the replies. Would I be better off looking elsewhere? Maybe West Point?

I had planned on fishing with a guide for a couple of days but if I could get some guidance I could bring my own boat.

The pictures of the floating eel grass were from yesterday! They have had our lake low all winter and if we would get a couple good rains and if they would let the water back up early enough it will help some on the eel grass getting pulled out of the bays . with current conditions it just blows back and forth with the wind which changes constantly ! They are some parts of the lake with deeper water that it’s not as bad in so it will be according to when you are coming and of course what the weather is doing where the fish will be! They usually start the move towards the shallow flats in March and can be caught in the back of the coves coming and going until Late May! The big fish will be on the move usually a little earlier that the rest ! Be glad to help anyway I can ! I’ve never fished West Point but Lowe175 fishes it every year!

Oh you guys are funny. Hardee har har.

Doug you wouldn’t need a guide just bring your boat. Find 6-10 FOW in any bay and pull jigs over the top of the 3-4’ deep grass. 1-32nd ounce jig. You’d do better pushing with an added weight, so you wouldn’t have much line out. That way you can lift it straight up to clean off the eelgrass. That’s what I’m going to do from now on. Too much frustration with eelgrass to longline. And I mean frustrating like make a preacher cuss, frustrating. I tried long lining ONCE in my favorite spot last spring. I was so mad within an hour I said to heck with it. Pushing jigs is the way to go and it’s still frustrating but manageable. I did find one cove I could longline in decently as long as the wind was blowing. When the wind is blowing the floating eelgrass sinks.
