    Default Wheeler advice

A buddy wants me to trailer down and take him out on wheeler. I have a loaded out boat with livescope, graphs etc. I fish 3 days a week and normally do fine. That being said, I have never been on wheeler. Don’t even know if it’s a good Crappie lake. Is it worth the trip this week?

    Thanks in advance!

I have not been able to get out myself, but I have heard they have been catching some spider rigging in the shallows. Maybe someone else will jump in shortly that knows more than me.

Any of the stump flats should be good on sunny afternoons in the Decatur areas or Limestone Bay.

Seem to be shallow now as others said. As long as you do not get heavy rains to muddy the water I would think it would be a good week.

Like other said, they are shallow right now. Mouth of flint creek and Limestone bay are good places to fish. Limestone creek is about a 6ish mile run up river from Decatur, Flint creek is 3-4ish mile run up river I would say.

Wheeler is a big lake. What area are you thinking about?
