Wow, I would love to have a mess of Perch that size. Those are as big as I have seen in several years, and it was only 1. Great job as always.

I know you can't have more than 30 Crappie in possession, but I thought if you "gift" a fish to another it now counts on their limit. Of course I've also been told you can and also that you can't keep fishing and releasing Crappie once you have a limit. I typically stop at 29 if I want to kept fishing and don't drop the "limit" fish in the cooler until I get ready to leave just in case. For that matter I usually only kept half a limit, but the freezer was bare after three weeks without fishing due to work, but still finding time to cook fish every weekend, LOL!
It shall be unlawful for any person to take or have in possession more than the daily limit for any fish as established herein. This shall not apply to fish held live for release by the sponsor or its designated agent after a bonafide fishing tournament provided they are released unharmed to the public waters from which they were taken as soon as reasonably possible on the same day they were taken. This does not obligate the sponsor or its designated agent to release dead or dying fish.
It was explained to me that the “ take or have in possession “ conveys the idea that a person fishing can only be responsible for the harvest of 1 limit of fish per day.

But.and I’m saying this because I never catch many. And I have personally saw Ditch do what he does. And that is slay crappie. If a poor fellow is there fishing his rear off and not doing much good, and a guy is blessed with a talent and catching a bunch, and that guy wants to bless others,is that so wrong?Ill be honest I don’t know the laws. But I don’t see anything wrong with helping other people out. And again I’ve saw it personally. If Ditch catches anything over 12 it’s going back anyway. So if you were there and hadn’t caught a fish you wouldn’t take them??Dont think so.

I’m not judging him. And I don’t take fish from other boats ever. I’m just stating what I was told the spirit of the law is.

And a person can legally give fish to other fisherman. They just can’t give more than a days limit. That’s the law.

If the law keeps a person from being a Good Samaritan then so be it.

Take=possession in my opinion.... 6 one half dozen the other. So let’s say there are 2 people in the same boat. One catches 30 the other only caught 20. The one that caught 30 has to stop fishing and let the other guy catch his 10 so it’s legal. Im about 100% sure there is always one person that catches more fish than the other.... just my 2 cents. Every time I’ve been checked by the warden or water patrol they asked how many we had, not individually how many each of us had caught..., I’ll stick with possession limits not take limits.
So when the 2 guys get to 60 is it ok to help the guy in the boat near them get his 30. Guess I opened up a can of worms here so I’ll drop out now.
