Not to hijack but.... We take the white bass....filet them and boil till flaky...make patties similar to salmon patties.. picky 13 year old daughter loves em.

I've tried white bass, but wasn't a fan. In Texas we called them sand bass or my favorite "Speed Perch", LOL!
They sure are fun to catch even if I don't keep them!

Have one nail a little spinner an ultralight rod with 4 pound test line. Speed Perch is a pretty good name, LOL!

I grew up calling Crappie "Paper Mouths".
I use to only fish for Crappie with minnows in the spring using a Zebco 33 and 12 pound test line. You'd always loose a few to the hook tearing through their mouths. I didn't learn to down size and be easy with them until much later, LOL.

Same here. Actually I think I’m to paranoid at times and don’t get a good hook set because I’ve heard that all my life.
