Thanks for the report. Think I’ll wait till it warms up before I go back.

I gave 8 Mile Creek a try today, putting in off County Road 1422. Visibility of about 18 inches and 39 degrees at 7AM. Slow day battling the wind, but managed to find 9 that would measure and returned 3 short. Not bad on a first outing in challenging conditions. Big thanks to Damion Kidd for letting me know about this area. Most of the mid section of the Creek is 15 to 18 feet deep, but the cold water had everything hugging the bottom. The few baitfish schools I found were on the bottom and not moving in 15 feet of water. The few that I caught came from spider rigging a 1/16oz jig with a Chartreuse Bobby Garland 12 to 13 feet deep in 15 feet of water. I'm sure I missed many, the fish were picking up the jig and swimming with it so no thumps or hard hits. It was difficult to see slack line with the wind. The water had only warmed to 41 by the time I left this afternoon.

This area should be great prespawn and during the spawn. You've got great spawning habit along the banks with water 15 foot deep within 50 yards all down the creek as long as the water stays up. Not sure how much or how quickly the water drops in Catoma.
Great report DB, thanks. Glad to see you were able to get out and enjoy the day.
