I may be mistaken but I think that's the first black nosed, white crappie I've seen posted. I thought black nosed was a black crappie genetic thing??
I have caught 2 more black nosed white crappie. Both in sugar creek. I have never caught a black crappie in sugar creek.

Defiantly a fun day. I caught them on the way back up to the wood duck nesting box. They seem to be around any stump. Will try a jig next time out. Have you ever fished a swim jig around the stumps ? Should be a blast with top water later in the year.

Thanks. I was referring to the one where the creek at the old iron bridge enters limestone creek.

Limestone has been full of Blacknose for several years now, caught or released several dozen this year. There should be some in the bay also!

I have a 14’ flat bottom with a trolling motor. Is this area accessible for me? I am in HSV and mainly go East when I fish but this place sounds great. Thx

    Gratefan,

    Welcome to the forum!

riverboss makes that run from Arrowhead depending on water depth during winter drawdown, he's your best source. I fish from a kayak so dragging or paddling in 3 inches of water isn't a problem for me.

I saw Riverboss there last week. He said that it was as low as it gets and he was there catching fish. And I found out the few minutes I talked to him he very willing to help and share what he knows send him a PM.
