    Default Boat Battery Question

Just got a new to me 2001 G3 pf175. It is currently set up for a 12 volt trolling motor.

I thought I had seen a discussion on trolling motor battery setups but can't find it now. I seem to recall it mentioned guys using a golf cart battery and getting more run time than a regular deep cycle.

I want to be able to start spider rigging or pulling cranks once I get set up for that in the future
I will also likey be going to a 24 volt system once i find a deal on a used motor.

Thoughts advice and recommendations or links to other discussions are appreciated.

Don’t know for sure but thinking a cart battery may be a little tight height wise. I’d sure get some good measurements first. If going to 24 think I would start with good group 31 and then just add another matching battery when you get the 24.

24 volt is what you need. As stated group 31 batteries will get the job done just fine. I use them for a Ranger fiberglass boat and the do a good job. What ever you go with be sure to do what was suggested and get some measurements first so you know for sure it will fit in the space you have.
