Default Looking for any tips Alabama Delta River System

I am originally from Mississippi been catching crappie since about three years old. But this Alabama delta river system has so many ever changing variables it’s tough. I mean you can catch a ton of 9” or less. But true quality ones has been a challenge. I fish live bait and jigs and have been successful. Just went back home in Mississippi caught limit and only kept 2.5 and 3 pounders. Not bragging just the truth. Here I struggle to get a limit of 1 to 1.5 pounders and cannot do that on constant bases. I think it may be more Tide related but not sure. Any advice?

Thanks Bob D for advice. I have also made a plan to fish north on the river. I was up along the Black Warrior and Tombigbee a couple of weekends ago for the first time. Found a few averages were pound to pound and a half crappie. Headed back that way in a couple of weeks to try again and I am expecting water temperature to be a good bit cooler. I am sure they will be moved even though I caught some of the bigger ones in 24 feet of water.
