Default I decided to pull the trigger on a big boy fishfinder

I ordered a Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 73sv with LakeVu G3 yesterday. Small compared to many, but definitely big boy for a kayak. GPSstore on line had it for $499 ($200 off). The funny thing is I don't need it for Crappie, hoping to use the sideview to locate deep gills beds in the spring. In clear water I've found many as deep as 8 feet.

I'm hoping it helps the search for deep gill beds. When I find them deep, that's where the big ones are!

When you get it figured out I may have to get you to give me lessons. I ordered the Garmin 93 UHD SV with Echomaps for my boat and maybe my kayak.

I love Garmin units. I always ran Lowrance stuff in the higher end models when I bass fished all the time. I bought a cheap Garmin striker 4 years ago and it had way better images than the Lowrance stuff ever had. Now I run a Garmin 93sv UHD, it’s got even better imaging. I’m sure Lowrance stuff has gotten better but I’ll stick with Garmin.
